Lovely week in a stunning property – beautifully converted and furnished and warm! Utility room is a real bonus. Lucky week with the weather and able to get lots of walking, muddy in the woods but generally fine. Spring is late this year and daffodils not out in Farndale yet but should be good after Easter. The recently opened cliff edge section of the Cleveland Way south of Staithes is a big improvement on the old route. Good to get up Roseberry Topping again even if we did catch a brief hailstorm at the top. Ormesby Hall was worth a visit for the friendly volunteers and the model railways, as well as a pleasant tearoom. The Magpie and Trenchers in Whitby both keep up their standards for fish and chips, and the Lion on Blakey Ridge is always good for pub food, but massive portions so build up an appetite first. Real Meals in Saltburn did a very nice sharing platter. Really relaxing week, wish we could stay longer. Family from Cheshire.
