Dear Liz and Danny. A most wonderful space and setting both inside and out – whatever the weather. Sharing time with our family made all ages able to share time and create beautiful memories in such a well thought out homely and impressive setting. The grandchildren loved the outdoor games whilst we chilled on the terrace. Thank you for creating such a special place for us to share our holiday. North Yorkshire is a great place to explore. We loved everything.

Liz and Danny.  A beautiful barn. A great location. Facilities have been super for my Mum. It’s often difficult to find such good accommodation for her with limited mobility. A week isn’t long enough! Next time maybe a month?!!

Dear Liz and Danny. Our second stay with you in two years and as enjoyable as ever. Wonderful for our family gathering. Super comfortable and a great barn for exploring the Moors and beyond. Mixed weather but we had some great walks, pub lunches, drives and restful coffees in the garden. Couldn’t ask for a better retreat. We very much hope to return.

Lovely place for a holiday and very lovely home. Everything you could wish for (except the rain!) Very dog friendly so Tilly enjoyed herself too.

Thank you for the warm welcome, the wonderful home so thoughtfully created with all comforts provided. We have had the very best of weeks in this beautiful part of the world. Infact, we shall be finding it hard to leave but so easy to return to this very location! We’ve particularly loved the moorland villages – Rosedale Abbey so pretty and Thornton le Dale, Hutton le Hole etc. etc. Runswick Bay our favourite coastal spot – with Staithes running 2nd! Helmsley, Harrogate – always a pleasure to revisit. It’s rather tragic we live 5 hours drive away.

Dear Liz and Danny. Many thanks for our wonderful visit to the barns! Although it was our first visit, I’m sure we will be back. The children loved all the outdoor area and making dens in the barns. Your kindness really made it a special birthday to remember. Hope to see you again soon.

Dear Liz and Danny. We have had a fabulous family holiday. The barn is warm and welcoming, especially when it’s raining! Fantastic meai courtesy of Catherine and Ben (Lillie’s kitchen) and a good lunch at The Lion. Duncan recommends the bar at ‘The Eskdale”.

We had a lovely time at the cottage – Me(8) My sister(5) Mummy, Daddy, Granny and Grandpa. Some of the best things we did were – Crazy golf in Scarborough. – Fossil hunting in Runswick Bay. – Mountain biking in Dalby Forest. – Hiking across the moors. – Sea life centre in Scarborough. – Fish and chips in Whitby. Dear Liz and Danny. Many thanks yet again for a fabulous week in Beacon View (8th visit here!) We have had another week of lovely walks, beach trips, great meals out (The Wheatsheaf in Egton stood out again) and general peace and relaxation. The boys had a great time playing rugby/football with your grandkids too. I’m certain we’ll be back!

Just the right time and place to relax after a busy hectic family Christmas and make our plans for 2024. Snug in the barn in the middle of the Yorkshire moors. Perfect!

We have had the most beautiful time here at Beacon View. Perfect for relaxing and seeing the beautiful scenery, fantastic walks, great local food …. what more could you want! 🙂

We have had a very happy week together, lots of family time playing games (MAO, Irish snap) Ligretto, Lexicon, chess, charades. We walked up onto the moors, many times in the rain and wind (storm Gerrit) to see the views, the sea, Danby Beacon. We have eaten so well, from Lillie’s beef, turkey and pastrami, also salmon and lots of good bacon, cheese and fruit and Pavlova!!! Liz and Danny decorated the barn perfectly with new cut holly and the enormous tree we look forward to. We wish them well on their 2024 travels and good health for many years to come. Thank you for making this lovely space for others to enjoy.

Liz and Danny, thank’s so much for a truly memorable Christmas, you were so welcoming and friendly, the barn is everything and more than we hoped for – warm, cosy, comfortable and so well appointed, there is nothing that we could possibly have wanted that isn’t here! Your suggestions for festive food from Lillie’s Food was very much appreciated and enjoyed plus we’ve had lots of pub grub from Staithes to Castleton, loved The Lion pub. All together we have had a great time and as I said had a truly memorable Christmas. Many thanks.

We’ve had a lovely week and have really enjoyed our stay – making full use of the BBQ and outside area! Wonderful barn and gorgeous views!! Lovely trips to the coast and local walks! Thank you!

Danny and Liz thank you for a wonderful week in Beacon View Barn. Especially ordering the fabulous, hot weather we have enjoyed 23-27 degrees. The view is stunning, the facilities were great having the outside space and BBQ. Visited several places on the coast and we plan to return to this area. A wonderful 70th Birthday Celebration with Family.

Dear Liz and Danny. What an amazing hidden gem in the middle of the North York Moors, we were very spoilt here in the ‘luxurious barn’ with the best views of the area! Especially for our first visit to this area of England this was spectacular. With the little girls real sightseeing was quite challenging, but we still managed to get a taste of the area: Saltburn (our only rainy day – unfortunately no mini railway, but we did travel the old original cliff funicular tram. Whitby, (the stones collected ensured several hours of kiddie fun), The Danby Show ( very lovely sunny day and unique experience for us ‘city people’:-) Helmsley and the walled gardens and best of all, the fun in and around the house (the toy shop that the kids loved, the walks into the heather, the great views, the cloud formations, the different comfy seats around the cottage and all the food – too many cakes, sones etc, etc! feeding the doves etc, etc. And then I nearly forget our great dinner date night at The Eskdale (their lemon Posset dessert is divine!) Thank you for the hospitality and for making this home so comfortable ( all little details and beautiful design/lighting etc was appreciated!)

Great holiday! Relaxing stay with amazing countryside all around. Recommended – Danby Bakery, Staithes for crabbing + fossils. Robin Hood’s Bay, Betty’s @ Northallerton. Thanks again.

There isn’t much we can add to what everyone else has said…. Perfect welcome, perfect cottage, great barbie and ‘sit ootery’…. + fab grass (well done Danny!). PS The cakes from Danby Bakery were amazing:-)

We enjoyed our stay greatly at your lovely barn. Very much appreciated your tasty hospitality too! Highlights, in addition to this idyllic spot, were the Steam Train trip through the Esk Valley, Whitby, including a boat trip and Rievaulx Abbey and Helmsley Walled Gardens. Some great gastro pubs tested too – thanks for your recommendations.
