The North York Moors Big Dark Skies Fringe Festival

Now here’s a fact you should know..The North York Moors National Park is just one of only 21 locations in the world to have been recognised as an International Dark Sky Reserve awarded for its pristine dark skies.
Throughout October half term you can enjoy star studded fun for all the family here in the North York Moors National Park, with a whole host of dark skies events taking place. You’ll be in good hands as these events will be organised and run by experts throughout the Park showcasing lots of great experiences and fun stuff for you to take part in. The North York Moors and coast is an incredibly beautiful place by day, then at night the huge dark skies show off literally 1000’s of stars – A moonlight night here is heavenly – catch a slice of the Northern lights – a spectacular show case.
